HAZARDOUS WASTE DISPOSAL IN MILWAUKIE & CLACKAMAS, OR

Hazardous Waste Disposal for Clackamas County Metal Finishers and Manufacturers

Milwaukie's industrial core, the Clackamas industrial area along Highway 212 and the shops around Oregon City are home to platers, anodizers, powder coaters and metal fabricators. Finishing lines produce some of the most tightly regulated waste in the state, and it comes out every week. Most finishing shops sit in the small or large quantity generator range, so container dating, weekly inspections and on-time pickups matter more here than almost anywhere else in the state.

Spent Plating Baths

Chrome, nickel, zinc, copper and cadmium baths, and cyanide solutions that must stay separated from acids. Each bath is profiled from its chemistry and analytical, packaged in compatible containers and shipped with its own DOT description. Cyanide and chrome baths are never consolidated with other streams, and each container is labeled with its accumulation start date before it leaves the line.

Electroplating Wastewater Treatment Sludge (F006)

Filter press cake and sludge from treating electroplating wastewater is an F006 listed hazardous waste. We sample it, profile it under the listed code, and ship it in lined bins or drums to a permitted facility for stabilization.

Anodizing, Etching and Pickling Liquids

Spent sulfuric and chromic acid, etchants, pickling acids and deoxidizers. For high-volume liquids we bring a vacuum trailer with an operator, solidify the load for disposal, and wash the tank so the line is ready to refill.

Alkaline Cleaners, Strippers and Rinse Water

Caustic cleaners, paint and coating strippers, and contaminated rinse water are tested for pH and metals, then routed to treatment or stabilization based on the results.

Powder Coating and Paint Shop Waste

Paint-related liquids, thinners, spent filters, booth sludge and contaminated rags are profiled for fuel blending or thermal treatment and ship together on one e-Manifest.

Lab Packs and Unknown Containers

Old chemicals, unlabeled bottles and small containers from QA labs and maintenance rooms. We run field hazcat on unknowns, segregate by compatibility, and pack everything into DOT-compliant lab packs with a full inventory.

Machining Coolants and Used Oil

Cutting fluids, coolants, used oil and oily absorbents from fabrication shops. Used oil is halogen-tested and sent for recycling, and coolants go to permitted treatment. Oily rags and absorbents are profiled on their own so they don't end up in a hazardous drum by default.

Drum Programs and One-Time Cleanouts

Recurring pickups keep your accumulation area inside its 90- or 180-day window. For a line shutdown or facility cleanout, we plan around Oregon's rule that your heaviest month sets your generator status for the whole year.

MILWAUKIE & CLACKAMAS
Hazardous Waste Disposal

A Portland-area metal finishing plant ships its spent plating liquids with HWD on a recurring schedule. Each visit, a vacuum trailer and operator pump roughly 18 to 24 tons of liquid, the load is solidified for disposal, and the tank is washed before the crew leaves.

Need an EPA site ID before your first shipment? We help you get it through DEQ as part of the project, and profiles carry forward so a repeat pickup doesn't start from scratch.

We cover all of Clackamas County: Milwaukie, Clackamas, Oregon City, Gladstone, Happy Valley, Lake Oswego, West Linn, Wilsonville and Canby. For statewide coverage, see our Oregon page.
