MESA, ARIZONA
HWD serves aviation, aerospace, maintenance-repair-overhaul and manufacturing generators across Mesa: Falcon Field, Phoenix-Mesa Gateway, the Elliot Road tech corridor, Gilbert and Apache Junction, plus Scottsdale.
We do not service household hazardous or non-hazardous waste. Businesses, institutions and government facilities only. Mesa residents should use the city's household hazardous materials facility.

HAZARDOUS WASTE DISPOSAL IN MESA, AZ
Aviation and MRO Waste
Mesa's two airports anchor a cluster of aviation maintenance, aerospace manufacturing and flight training operations. The waste streams are specific and the documentation expectations are high; FAA-regulated operators and defense-adjacent suppliers get audited. HWD handles the full chain for these operators: profiling, packaging, DOT shipping papers and the signed manifest back for your records.
Fuels and Fluids
Off-spec and contaminated Jet A and avgas, sumped fuel, hydraulic fluids, engine oils and used oil (halogen-tested for recycling), glycol deicing fluid, and oily water from wash racks and separators. Bulk pumping for tanks and sumps; drums and totes for the rest. Contaminated fuel is tested and sent for fuel blending or recycling whenever it qualifies.
Paint Strip, Coatings and Corrosion Control
Chemical strippers and stripping sludge from airframe work, chromate primers and conversion coating residuals, topcoats and thinners, MEK and acetone, and paint-related material from booth maintenance, profiled for fuel blending or incineration based on the chemistry.
Shop Chemicals
Solvent parts washers, aerosols packed for incineration, sealants and adhesives, flux, cleaning chemistries, blast media, and the spent absorbents and rags that go with all of it. Flight schools and smaller FBOs usually generate these in modest amounts, so we can combine them with fuel and oil pickups on one visit.
Aerospace Manufacturing and Defense Suppliers
The Elliot Road corridor and the Gateway area are home to machining, composites and electronics suppliers that feed larger aerospace programs. Their waste looks a lot like the airport shops, plus cutting fluids, metal fines, resin and adhesive waste, and expired shelf-life materials. Prime contractors expect clean records, so every pickup leaves with a signed manifest and a disposal certificate on request.
Scheduled and On-Call Service
MRO and manufacturing operations have a predictable rhythm. We set up recurring pickups that keep your accumulation area inside its 90- or 180-day window without the scramble, and we're on call for the unplanned jobs: a tank that has to be emptied before inspection, or a hangar cleanout when a tenant leaves.
Wash Racks, Separators and Sumps
Aircraft and vehicle wash racks feed oil-water separators that fill with sludge, oily water and spent detergent. We pump and haul the liquids, clean out the solids, and profile both so the separator goes back into service with a clean record. The same crew can empty fuel sumps and tank bottoms while on site.
MESA AND GILBERT
Hazardous Waste Disposal
Beyond aviation, the Mesa-Gilbert corridor runs metal fabrication, electronics, medical device assembly, plastics and food processing. Typical streams: flammable liquids and solvents, concentrated acids and bases, cutting fluids and coolants, process solids for stabilization or landfill, and periodic inventory cleanouts. Medical device and electronics assemblers along the Loop 202 often have small but regulated streams, and we fold them into the same scheduled route rather than a separate trip.
Audit-ready documentation: e-Manifests with land disposal restriction notifications, signed copies returned for the file, disposal certification on request, and properly labeled and dated containers in your accumulation area. For MRO shops with a steady rhythm we set up recurring pickups and carry profiles forward so repeat streams don't get re-papered. If a customer or regulator audit is coming, a job walk beforehand is a simple way to find the problems first.

Getting a Mesa quote: tell us what's on the ramp or in the hangar, such as fuel, hydraulic fluid, strip sludge or paint waste, with photos and rough volumes. We'll set up a one-time cleanout or a recurring schedule around your maintenance cycle.
We quote, then our crew arrives with the right containers, packs and labels on site, and leaves with the waste and a signed manifest copy for your file. Also serving Gilbert, Apache Junction, Scottsdale, Chandler and Tempe, and statewide across Arizona.
